Swim Meet 101
Tips for New Swim Parents and what to bring to Swim Meets:
- Extra Towels: chances are your swimmer will be in more than one event.
- Extra goggles: in case your swimmers regular pair breaks.
- Water, Gatorade, Powerade: something to keep your swimmer hydrated during the meet. Especially during the outdoor meets.
- Snacks: something to keep your swimmers energy up during the meet. Good swim meet snacks are granola bars, fruit, vegetables, etc.
- Lawn chairs/blankets: something comfortable to sit on during the meet is good to have.
- Extra Suit: if you have one it is good to bring an extra swim suit just in case something happens to the first one.
- Sharpies: we use sharpies to write swimmers events/heats/lanes on them so that they know where to go and when.
- Highlighters: these are good to bring so you can highlight you swimmer in the heat sheet if the meet offers heat sheets.
